Here’s our latest Publisher Spotlight on Redu, a growing publisher which has brought some exciting developments to the affiliate space. The Publisher Discovery platform is all about helping program managers to find new affiliates. More importantly it’s about finding the most relevant affiliates to recruit.

Our app provides outline affiliate analysis, including social and email details to give you more than the simple domain url. This is a relationship industry so it pays dividends to understand publishers more fully. That’s what led us to plan this series of interviews.

I personally first came across Redu a few years ago – when I met their founders Gary and Sam and heard about Ashleigh Money Saver in a cafe in Newcastle upon Tyne! The company has grown significantly since then, and the company has grown and developed into a stronger and more diverse publisher.

We recently caught up with some of the team at Redu, a UK affiliate publishing company based on the North East coast, who publish a series of web properties in savings and coupons. We spoke to Warrick Lambert and Jade Henry to get the full picture of how they have grown through the last few years – as well as the past 10 months!

 

CAN YOU INTRODUCE REDU?

We are an affiliate and rewards marketing company with a total of 35 staff across our three office sites based in Seaham, Newcastle and London. Redu is made up of 3 divisions: Redu Reach, Redu Rewards, and Redu Retail (www.redu.co.uk)

Redu Reach

We are experts in consumer-focused affiliate marketing. Over 3 million customers utilise our portfolio of brands to purchase and peruse everything from retail and food to financial products daily across social media, web, and app platforms. This generates over 200 million monthly engagements on Facebook alone.

This equates to over 5.8 million referrals to our retail partner websites each month, delivering over £50m in sales each year. Redu has our own in-house technology that uses over 6 years of historical data to predict the right product at the right time. We deliver relevant and engaging content directly to consumer’s social feeds and generate genuine incremental sales for retailers.

Redu Rewards allows employers and membership organisations to deliver everyday benefits to help their employees/members’ salaries go further with the use of our white label reward platform ‘Reward Me Now‘.

Users benefit from instant savings at over 200 of the UK’s top brands. Our technology delivers on-demand digital codes in under 4 seconds, which can be used at the checkout both in-store and online. We have also just launched Reward My Health within the platform.

This unique addition gives employers and employees the ability to set physical health targets. The app then tracks their steps so that the employer can encourage and offer financial incentives for them to achieve their goals. It works as both a standalone app and pairs with Apple Health, Google Health, Fitbit and Garmin for those who love their fitness tech too.

Redu Retail

Redu Retail (formerly MBL Solutions) helps retailers to develop, manage, and succeed within the gift card and affiliate industry. The unique in-house Simfoni Platform is market-leading in the processing and management of Gift Card, Voucher Code, and Instant Reward programmes. It provides end-to-end fulfilment of digital and physical gift cards. Our in-house software processes and manages unique single-use discount codes, enabling a more secure way to deliver discounts to your target customers without leakage into unintended areas.

 

THIS YEAR HAS BEEN A CHALLENGE FOR MANY; HOW DID YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR PLANNING FOR Q4 2020?

2020 saw huge changes within the affiliate and rewards industry. We too have had to adapt to ensure we were maximising performance potential for our clients while simultaneously meeting our customer’s needs.

We understood it was difficult for brands to plan ahead within Q4, so we ensured that we were flexible in our approach and tailored each exposure piece to each individual client. In addition to this, we consistently analysed transaction data which allowed us to stay up to date with new trends, ensuring we were only promoting products and offers that would be of interest to our customers.

Ashleigh Shop 1024x600 1At Redu we continued to see strong growth throughout the year, which led us to expand our team further and saw us introduce a new Finance Director, Marketing Manager, and Email Marketing Manager to the team. We also expanded into a new market by initiating our own e-commerce site, Ashleigh Shop, which celebrated a fantastic launch.

 

The year ended on a high, with the acquisition of MBL Solutions, which is now known as Redu Retail. This added another 10 talented people to the team. It also gave us scope to start talking to retailers about how to use unique gift codes to learn more about their customer, and crucially in the current climate, how to better target and reward customers for their loyalty.

 

WHERE DO YOU SEE THE STRONGEST OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH IN 2021?

redu retail logos 300x280 1 1With the acquisition of MBL Solutions (now Redu Retail), we are now expanding into a new market of code processing and B2B management. This is an exciting growth opportunity that allows us to offer our clients support across all aspects of their marketing techniques, from affiliate sales and gift card processing, to employee benefits and rewards.

We also envision massive growth opportunities for Ashleigh Shop too. The new e-commerce site launched in Q3 2020 and throughout the Q4 period, it grew massively. We are continuing to expand our product range, making it a very exciting time to network and market and we look forward to the brand becoming a household name.

 

DOES REDU WORK WITH NETWORKS AND STAND-ALONE PROGRAMS?

Here at Redu, we work with numerous clients. This includes affiliate network managers, agency account managers, and directly with brands who we promote via stand-alone programs.
