ASEURO Remote Takeaways

Affiliate Summit Europe Goes Remote

Marketing conferences have pretty much stopped worldwide due to the current global emergency. The  team at Affiliate Summit had all of the Europe conference ready to go – and took an innovative step and moved the whole event online. Here are takeaways from this groundbreaking ASEURO Remote.

The event overall sponsor was Webgains Women Speakers 1024x512 1– and Publisher Discovery are proud to have been among the event sponsors.

That wasn’t the only innovation however as this event was billed as being 100% female presenters and speakers. The line up of sessions saw some of the strongest women in our industry sharing their knowledge and experience.

The Event App

The Swapcard app worked really well and enabled not only connection but also the ability to ‘meet’ up and share a screen to illustrate a conversation.

The app let you run the whole show from you phone (or desktop). The fact that so many conferences are now run via an app meant that the shift to fully online was not too difficult. It also meant that attendees saved a lot of budget on travel and hotels!!

Sessions included headlines from Goldie Chan and Mary Portas the UK ‘Queen of Shops’; and the event kicked off with Holly Tucker with her journey building both NotOnTheHighStreet and Holly&Co.

Drop in Clinics proved very popular with several being booked up completely from the strong attendee list. These covered SEO, PR and Social Media as well as specific areas such as landing page optimisation.

Conference Sessions

Ami Spencer led out the speaker lineup, advising on defending full price in the affiliate channel. Bonnie D’Amico of Shopify gave some sound advice for anyone starting in partner marketing. Most aspects on managing affiliate activity were covered and included a great panel session looking ahead at what the next 12 months might bring.

There were country round tables for leading European markets and the different attendees such as Affiliate and Advertisers. The specific industry verticals tackled some of the thorniest issues in Retail and Travel amongst others which were all well attended. Our own Emma Outerbridge led the discussion in the Finance Vertical on the third day. Watch out for our Blog later this month with some more detail on that, sharing the wisdom shared by attendees in the session.

The event also had time for some bits of fun and networking, Mornings even started with zoom Yoga sessions! The Pub Quiz sponsored by Piggy and another by Crakrevenue.

It must have been a hugely difficult decision to continue and take the whole event online, but judging by the buzz in social channels and from the conversations I had, we’d say it was a success. We’re very much looking forward to some real events starting when the world returns closer to normality. In the meantime this ASEURO was an excellent addition to the calendar.
